Produced and performed by Coyle Girelli, Out of This Town is a tribute album featuring unreleased songs by the late GRAMMY Award–winning songwriter Mac Davis. Before Davis’s passing in 2020, the two artists began with a collection of Mac’s handwritten lyrics on yellow legal pads. Davis likened Girelli’s powerful voice to Roy Orbison and declared him the only one fit to sing these songs. The album features duets with Mac Davis, KT Tunstall, Cassandra Lewis, and Jaime Wyatt. Released on Sun Records.

The new Coyle Girelli record, "Out of This Town" sounds like a Sun record. It sounds like other things, too (including Mac Davis, Girelli's collaborator on writing many of the tunes), but first it has the deep echo of a Sun Record production. That similarity is only helped by how much Girelli can sound like early Roy Orbison. This is a more somber record than Sam Phillips would have put out, with some of the unrelenting concentration of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, but there's a pop sensibility at work, too, and Girelli's vocals, the spare arrangements, the themes of love (requited and not) all cry for mainstream attention.
